Delayed post

With the current situation the postal system isn't quite what it was in the UK, and I've seen a few posts today with people commenting on how long letters are taking to get there. I've experienced this, and I think like most people i know it's just one of those things at the minute. More baffling to me though is several parcels I've ordered have turned up a day after they say they have. Before the virus if the tracking said my parcel had arrived then it had arrived, but now I'm notified it's arrived and been giving to someone, but it doesn't actually arrive until the next day. I've now had this with a couple of different couriers and I'm not sure why. I'd much prefer that when I'm told it's arrived it actually has, otherwise I'm left wondering if a neighbour has it.

My sons were wondering what was happening to their mail. Come to find out it was being left at the office and people who wanted their mail had to come to the rental office to pick it up. Frankly I don't like that. I want the official post office to put my mail in my official mail box. But anyway! That's what they're doing!

That would be really annoying, especially as they didn't tell you.

It's expected because things will take time to come back to place but matters are going worse still

I didn’t know you could, I’ve used amazon lockers in the past, but they’re inside Morrison’s

So I'm not the only one that's happened to it seems. I have waited a month to receive some mail and as you said, the same thing has happened with packages. My husband found on in the strangest place yesterday. Good thing he notice it by accident.

It also seems very odd, I don’t know if the delivery drivers are just very busy, or they’re taking advantage because we can’t sign for anything

@Dragonairy1 Could be either or both. I know I wouldn't want to sign for anything. Such is life.

Collecting from the post office is another option perhaps.

It is always disconcerting when packages don't arrive on time.
