Hey there, everyone. Today’s Daily Blogging Challenge is “10 facts about the city you live in.” For those who don’t know, I live in Baltimore City, MD, USA.
1. Baltimore has over 220 neighborhoods.
2. The first regular railroad passenger service in the country started in Baltimore on May 22, 1830.
3. Baltimore is the birthplace of Babe Ruth (baseball legend).
4. Baltimore is the home to historic districts such as Fells Point and Ellicott City.
5. It is also the home of Fort McHenry, Federal Hill Park and the Edgar Allan Poe House.
6. The Star-Spangled Banner was written by ?Francis Scott Key? at Fort McHenry in 1814.
7. Some of the venues in Baltimore include the Royal Farms Arena, Du Burns Arena, MECU Pavilion, M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
8. Some of the attractions include the B&O Railroad Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium in Baltimore and Port Discovery.
9. Baltimore is also the home of The Johns Hopkins University.
10. It is also the home of the first dental school in the world, which was founded in 1840.
Okay, some of these I looked up (and put into my own words), and others I already knew, but there's a glimpse into my hometown. :)
I'm gonna get back to work. You all have a good evening/day and take care.

Sounds like a busy but interesting place.
I've heard of Edgar Allan Poe so that's interesting too

Thanks! It's definitely busy, and interesting when I actually read all the facts (as sometimes I don't notice, having lived here all my life).
Awesome. :) Our football team is named for him (Ravens), and the team mascots are three ravens ---- Edgar, Allen and Poe. :)

Thanks for the information the only thing I knew about Baltimore is that it was near the US Naval Academy is that right? I know the academy itself is in Annapolis but I was wondering if that is close to Baltimore.
