If we are asked to write an essay about our take on the pandemia, like, what is it that grieved you most, my title would be "Missing the Holy Communion."
Daily, we are blessed with the Holy Mass on air, very grateful for the wonderful blessing. Without the daily Mass, I probably wouldn't get through the pandemic. But much as I loved listening to the Liturgy of the Word, when the Liturgy of the Eucharist comes, the void leaves a hollow in my being.
Yup, for some three months now, half a year, we've been deprived of the Corpus Christi, the Body of our Lord, the Source and Summit of our being Christians.
That is the greatest suffering this pandemic has rendered me. And yet, I console my self remembering our Lord's promise of Love.

Thank you for the information about the south of Switzerland being Catholics. What about north? What religion do the northerners embrace?

It's true that spiritual gatherings always bring peace, faith and hope in us. When we pray together in groups it makes us feel elated and rejuvenated. This cannot be matched with the vibes that we get when we pray in isolation.

For Catholics like me, the Mass is the highest form of prayer. The Mass is celebrated in the Church. In the church, we assemble to worship God through the dramatization of the Holy Sacrifice. Thus, we relive the Passion of our Lord Jesus.
The personal prayers are truly private. It's tiny compared to the immensity of the Mass.

@Miracle_Maya In the Catholic Mass, the whole hour is a deep prayer conducted in utmost reverence to the solemnity of the Mass. The feeling is indescribable.
In utter contrast to group recollections or spiritual seminars where there are singing and even dancing, the Mass is most subdued and sacred.
I have seen evangelical worships on television and some charismatic workshops, I think they have to set the mood with music and pulpit speeches. The effect on people might be good. But not the same with the Mass.

@eileenleyva Correct, irrespective of the religion or division we belong to, I'm sure praying and celebrating God in groups creates immense positive energy and satisfaction inside us which is beyond any rational explanation. This is nothing compared to the feeling that we get when we pray in private.

That is true being not able to attend physically to a mass is absent for the past months. It still is a different feeling to be there present at mass especially on Sundays but the risks is just too high when these activities will be allowed freely at tjis time and moment. The feeling being out can be such a very stressful mentally performing your duties and responsibilities to fulfill your job requirements.

Not receiving our Lord in Holy Communion had made me long for God more and more, as if my physical being is incomplete, or not whole, without our Jesus Christ.

there is much to lament, but the heart of the savior can be known without ceremony.

And yet, the Savior continues to manifest Himself into our consciousness.
During Christmas Day Mass in Poland, a Consecrated Host fell to the floor. It was recovered and placed in a container with water. Soon, red stains began to a...

Yes going to a place of worship is the thing we miss the most during the Pandemic. Yet we need to be content having to pray to lord almighty within the confines of our house.

I do understand the situation, and yet that certain longing to receive my God grips me.
