so many expired breads in the mart / myLot

I shopped today in the mart but I was a bit frustrated because there were no breads in the shelves. Then by and by, my attention was directed to piles of boxes of bread at the corner. I told the cashier that they had breads over that corner. He told me that they were all expired thus needed to be returned. So many breads are wasted now that the lockdown has been eased out. People do not do panic buying anymore.

It is a great shame that the bread is being wasted. Surely some of it could be used.

they can still recycle it. I wish companies would give it to those who badly need them. i thin they are still edible. they can toast them.

They sell it off here for pennies rather than waste it. If its just expired there will be nothing wrong with it. Alwys good for toast.

Wasting of food material is really bad. customers are equally responsible. we face the same problem.

I did not try. Actualy there were still loaves of breads only that they would expire in two.days, and we are only two in the house. It happened before and i just threw them.
