The world is crazy. Am I sane or insane?

Decades ago, the world seemed to follow a line of progress. We learned how to read and write and we prepared for a world that, if possible, would have more equality. We had to make it that way. We started by having pen pals around the world and I personally went to the Post Office to get the stamps that showed my country. And I explained it to them. I was lucky to be in the age of the ball point pen. I would have been illitarate if I had to continue writing with those ink pens that were part of my nightmares. Just when I had learned to write in a typewriter in the right pace so that I could think and write at the same time, they became obsolete. Dear friends, I don´t like computers. I don´t like white letters in a black background. I don´t like to wrote my stories and then, when I want to edit them, they are in an old app where whey are lost forever with the photos of the digital cameras that I saved in floppy discs. We are now secluded in our homes. A foe has come to remind us that we are not the owners of the universe. We must learn to be humble. Let us check now and cherish what we still have from those days. If we cannot go out, let us do it by closing our eyes. If we cannot hug each other, let us hug each other virtually

I used to love writing letters from childhood. I had many pen pals through my young adulthood. Oh the patience we had in waiting for replies back then. But now we live in a sort of "instant" world . . . things will go faster, but are not necessarily better. My kids are growing up in this instant world, but this strange time has afforded me a way to teach them some of the things that I had in my time. Virtual hugs back to you, marguicha!

@marguicha The old ways made us more mindful of things. Words in a letter seemed more meaningful too . . . with email and texting, no one wants to see long explanations anymore. It all seems less personal now.

Certainly we live in a world that seems to have no patience. I often wonder where it will all end.

You reminded me of my time when I had penpals from many countries. Yes, the world is getting crazy. I hope we will recover from it

Love writing letters. I still write notes every chance I can. I keep a notebook wherein I write ideas that pop up in my head. Virtual hugs to everyone in this post.

It seems to me that the world is taking a very bad road right now. I just hope that it will find a good one soon.

I do agree with you. That we are only temporarily living in this world. That God I believe is in control of everything.

Well reality is what you make of it so you could be either sane or insane depending on the person you are talking to. I do like writing letters especially in cursive but that is a dying art and a lot of people have an issue with reading cursive now
