I Don't Pile Up!

I volunteered myself to cook our lunch. It is only the three of us, so it does not matter if we have a no-meat meal time today. My sister prepared the meat, onions and garlic, and boiled the 2 cups of mung beans. My sister, when she cooks, keeps on sighing and complains of body pains, that was why I told her I will do the task. Not only did I cook the mung beans, I also cooked rice for us humans and for the dogs. In just an hour, I made those all. Since the mung beans were boiled, I did sauteed them with garlic, onions, and ginger. then the mung beans, followed with the ham and meat. Since I think I have the better sense of taste than my siblings, I did the tasting myself and not let them taste it. To them, it is either the dish lacks salt, or it has excess salt in it. The pile up? Well, as soon as I am not doing anything, like waiting for the food to boil, I wash the items I used immediately; examples are the knife, saucer, bowl, strainer, ladle, and the chopping board. Not like my brother who piles up and cleans only after cooking, I like the kitchen sink and board clean. Now, my sister asked e if I am done. I said, "yes"! Then she went up to her room while I am alone here again. I practice the CLAYGO mantra.

Some have the habit of keep complaining but good you already managed all the work single handedly

@ridingbet that's good. I also ask my team to do CLAYGO in their work stations at the end of our shift. This is back when we were working at the office.

I'm like your brother unless I'm making a large meal, then I'll clean the dishes I'm done with. The rest wait until the meal is finished.

my brother wanted that all used kitchen utensils are already done using it, that is why he preferred to pile all up before washing them all.

I also did the cooking for our lunch because my parents were in the backyard cleaning and chopping firewood. My mother also taught me to clean as I go. As I am cooking, I am washing the utensils I used. Because if I won't, my mother will get mad hihihi I cooked squash and the ampalaya I harvested yesterday. While we were eating, my father said, "nalalaing kan sa met agluton ngem ni mamam". And I replied, "ohh, kunayo lang a tapno siak to manen iti agluto". And we laughed. Hihihi

typical Ilocano value that should be, isn't it, hija? we should always practice the CLAYGO. it is uplifting if we hear words of appreciation from others, but that would also mean that we have to do that task again.

@hereandthere hihi I'm sorry I had a hard time translating it, but it goes something like... "I think you already cook better than your mother"... And I replied... Ohh you just said that so that I will cook again next time.. Hihi I'm not sure if that's the exact translation.. Ate Ingrid, helppppp hihihi

@Janet357 maybe you should not wash bundles of utensils, and give yourself some space in doing the washing. may i ask how many are you in your home? maybe if you have a big family, it is expected that you wash many plates and cooking utensils.

then when these are soaked well, it is therefore easier for you to rinse the soap suds under running water.

yes, she and my brother enjoyed the dish. the flavor was just right for them, although for me, i still added some drops of fish sauce because it lack salt for my taste. i should have the low salt, low fat, less sugar content in my diet, but the dish i cooke was for my siblings because it really lacked taste. i had to adjust for my taste.

they say when we make our workplace neat and clean, that is also a reflection of our attitude on some things. therefore, i could say, i have a mindset of clarity.
