Health Journey 2020 - Day 169 | June 17th

Rupert, Idaho
June 18, 2020 3:00am CST
Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I hope well. I am here to share my food/exercise for yesterday. Blood sugars ~ Fasting - 183 Meal 2 - 133 Meal 3 - 94 My fasting number was high because I had some carbs in the later part of the day before. So, what did I eat, and what was my workout? Meal 1 - Low carb tortilla, 2 eggs, 1 uncured hot dog, and some shredded cheddar cheese I did a work out after this meal - 2 hours of different dance workouts. Meal 2 - Tuna with mayo & no sugar added ketchup 1 slice of cheese On the side I had a serving of BBQ flavored pork rinds I followed this with 2 pieces of my low carb/sugar free tiger fudge candy Meal 3 - 2.5 ounces of steak, a little steak sauce Another serving of the pork rinds Macros/other numbers for the day ~ Calories - 1,360 Protein- 81 Fat - 95 Net Carbs - 19 Sugar - 7 Sodium - 3,428 Potassium - 1,356 Water- About 24 ounces Workout time - 120 minutes total Calories burned - 992 I think I did pretty good with food, and exercise. What do you think? It was nice getting the two hours done at once and then I didn't have to worry about it later in the day. If you work out, do you do it all at once or do you break it up throughout the day? Photo via Pixabay

On the 17th I did, yes. Today I had regular pizza and some ice cream. I will be back on low carb Monday

@MommyOfEli2013 Once in a while having regular pizza and ice cream is just fine. But, if it's done often, the weight and blood glucose start going haywire. I don't have a weight problem, but my glucose yesterday was at 230. I wasn't happy to see that number(after a pizza sub).

@kobesbuddy That's why I try to keep it to only once or twice a month, except the past month or so it's been every weekend. I need to stop that because sometimes I end up wanting to eat carbs longer than just 1 or 2 days. My weight will go up with carbs guaranteed, but I know I will lose it when I go back on low carb. Sorry your blood sugar went up that much after the sub! Mine was 179 this morning because I did have carbs yesterday.

I break it up throughout the day. The Fitbit helps with the hourly step goal. I think you did well. I did okay, not great since I gained water weight.

@MommyOfEli2013 I like the hourly step goal. It gets me off the computer for a few minutes.

@just4him I have it set up on my Fitbit too, but I never remember to pay attention to it. That's good that you like the hourly step goal though

I have read about your hourly step goal....and that's good to break it up throughout the day. Thank you, it was a successful day since I went down quite a bit in water weight. Sorry you gained water weight

@MommyOfEli2013 My doctor once told me to divide my weight by 2 and that’s how many ounces of water you need daily.

@Tampa_girl7 I don't think I would be able to drink that much to be honest...but I have heard that too

You did good with the food and exercise. When I work out I do it all at once, even though I may take 5-10 minutes break per set. It's easier to achieve the workout goal that way

Thank you, I tried. Doing it all at once is good, especially if you have a break. For me it is easier to break it up because I can do more each time than if I did it just once.

@MommyOfEli2013 I like your commitment to the exercise. I procrastinate a lot so I'd rather just get it done at once so I won't skip it
