Despite the schools in the Richmond School District being closed due to Coronavirus pandemic since March, the program to feed families who are going through a tough financial times since their source of income was cut off due to the business being closed as a safety precaution, thanks to the 4,000 volunteers who worked 14,000 hours to prepare and distribute over 1 million meals as of this month.
RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras is grateful that every employee from the custodians to the cooks worked together as a team to feed the needy families during the pandemic period.
The program to feed the needy families who are in need of a meal will continue this summer by having food distribution centers around the Richmond area.
The pandemic has united the Richmond School District to serve their community this year.

It is a nice deed for the school district to feed free meals to the families of the students who are going through tough times.
