A couple is celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary and they have invited us to come tomorrow afternoon. We have accepted the invitation so, if ever, we will get to see our other friends This couple has lost their jobs during pandemic and so they resorted to online selling. With God Jah's help, they were able to support their needs. Is this pandemic just like the Great Depression? Have you received any invitation recently?

It may be like the Great Depression to some degree, but I think they were much worse off back then than we are today. But we'll see how it goes in coming months/years . . . it's not over yet. Invitation ... we have been invited to a wedding in early September. We would have to travel for it - and well, considering it's only a little over a couple months ahead, we think it's too early to be traveling and gathering with strangers. We won't be attending.

@Janet357 I do not know the numbers, but we cannot compare that yet since this pandemic hasn't ended yet. The wedding is up north mid-state (same state, CA) . ..we could drive, but then there are so many things to think of - plus we'd be taking 2 kids. No way. Plus it's during Labor Day weekend - a very busy traffic-y weekend on top of everything.

The pandemic does remind of the Great Depression in some ways. I have not received any invitations lately.

I'm glad they can still find joy right now, even in the midst of their job losses. I haven't received any invitations lately.

God is goo all the time. I never thought they would earn from online selling as it is very saturated already.

The pandemic would most likely trigger a situation similar to the great depression of the 1930s and much worst than the great recession of 2007 in the coming months. I pray that I'm wrong but some signs are already showing up. My friend recently invited me to see his land that he subdivided and trying to sell lots.

@Janet357 no it's raw lands in Norzagaray in Bulacan, he subdivided it and selling individual lots cheap. There are no more big cheap lots in LPC, if there are it is already controlled by you know who The great recession of 2007 made me find mylot accidentally looking for other ways to earn, I found a site to make friends even if earning was small think that was 2010.

I actually could not feel the impact of that 2007 recession. But this one yes, this pandemic. Is it also in Las Pinas, the lot?

In the USA the unemployment figures are worse than in the BIG depression but then again there are a lot more people now than there was in the 1930s.

I haven't received any lately. I am not sure what will be the final decision of working with my company. The company is doing so many changes lately. Some of them are not acceptable to me.

It certainly seems to be much like the Great Depression although I didn't live through that.

@Janet357 yup. Plus, when there's one positive, the whole people in the gathering needs to be swab test and quarantine. I don't want to get another quarantine
