We brought our dog to the vet clinic

Fortunately the nearby vet clinic is open on Sundays so we were able to have our dog checked. There is a lump on the right side of her neck. The vet suctioned the fluid and the lump was gone. Hopefully it will not appear again.

Did the vet say why there was fluid build-up in your dog's neck? Was it an infection, or is there something more serious wrong with the dog?

The vet did not explain very well so my wife called our vet (whose clinic is far). There was no explanation either, just a natural occurence like a cyst.

@Alexandoy Okay, if they feel comfortable that it was only a cyst, then there's probably no further reason for worry. How's the dog doing now?

Our maid noticed the lump this morning when they are giving the dog a bath. My wife decided to bring to the vet immediately.

I’m so glad you could get your dog checked out. It’s good that it was nothing serious. Our dogs were old and both had to be put down about a year apart. It’s too sad.

@rsa101 it's not painful though. Maybe it's like a cyst which is natural.

@Alexandoy I wonder why the vet wouldn't have discussed the reasons with you. I guess it would be better to ask during your next visit so that you can see to it that you can avoid this from happening again as far as possible.

The vet's usually test the fluid to check what it it. It's helps in deciding the proper course of treatment. Hope your vet has prescribed antibiotics for your dog and it subsides fast. Wishing your dog a speedy recovery.
