Rape--- a social issue that should be of much importance!

Last week, the daughter of a famous star here in my country commented on somebody, a radio commentator, that rape is not caused by how women dress themselves up. Her comment got the attention of one middle-age man who said that if 'he is 12 years old, he will search for this lady, rape her, and be safe from imprisonment because the father of the lady passed a law about the age of the rapist should be more than 12 years old'. (Just a review of the issues). The mother of the lady responded that the man felt so privileged, and she sought the assistance of the national police, to which the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) did, to find out the IP address of this man, and his location too. Now, this man should quiver because he will be indicted for harassment and cyber-bullying. Rape should never be a funny issue. From your point of view, does how a female person dress up a reason for rape? or is it in the male's personality to do the act?

Raping a woman based on what she wears is a cop out. I can look at a pretty woman and just pray to keep my hands away from her body since I want to have a good image even though I am eccentric.

i agree. there are some sexy stars who flaunt their bodies, do you believe then that men who watch them may have the desire to rape them? i think it is in their values, attitudes, the 'devil inside them' that may cause them to do the act.

@ridingbet I am tempted but then I put on the brakes and think to myself "Would I want to be jumped by a female just for showing off?|

I agree with Tulfo. I am a woman, and i have never encountered men catcalling at me because I don't dress in such way.

The man has already been identified by the Mega star as a certain Sonny Alcos, the star and the Department of Justice is now after him. I hope these people would go to jail if found guilty.

yes, and maybe this man should have the very valid reason why he commented on that. he is a DDS daw, hoped maybe that DU30 will help him.

I am glad if the police will get and question him, this kind of comments are not acceptable.

So glad that man was tracked down and facing charges. Men rape despite what a female is wearing and should not be tolerated no matter what!

How a woman dresses is a huge factor but not the only factor. A woman can invite that kind of action with the way she dresses. However, it's not the only factor. There are men who prey on women and it doesn't matter how they're dressed. They could be the most modest dresser and still be victimized by rape.

he should hide now, maybe the NBI agents are searching for him, but that is an advantage because the lady and her family is rich. how then if a poor lady is harrassed, and eventually got raped? the law cannot be good for the poor, justice is always blindfolded.

Yeah rape is not a funny matter. I think it's the male's personality. Although I do think it's sociality's fault.

Dress is also one of the reason why crime is happening.

yes, but the self-control of the man should always be observed by him.
