Silly Question: Can We Just Name It as Mouth and Nose Mask? LOL

I am just being silly with this wild idea. Why do we call it a face mask? Since it only covers people's mouth and nose. If it is a face mask, then it needs to cover the whole face. It was like being a ninja. Did you ever wonder about this real usage of face mask? Image Credit: karatemart.com

i would call it "mouth and nose mask" just because some people put it on their chin for some reason???

Let me guess, they cannot breathe for doing this. Sometimes I feel this way, but I remind myself not to do it since the virus is still not controlled at present.

But then again, many people would stick their noses out of their face masks because they say they couldn't breathe. I think the should be called mouth masks then.

I agree. Sometimes I cannot blame them because it is hard to breathe with this face mask. I also feel this way when hiking to the public market back and forth.

@Shavkat that's unfortunate! But, you see, the virus can still get into you through the exposed nose.

@Tierkreisze I agree. Sometimes I am being so paranoid. Why? I can still smell the scent of a person while using a face mask in public.

I guess we have lots of odd names for things. But you're right. It should be a nose and mouth mask.

I am just wondering why. It was just a thought. I think we need to make right names to certain things.

I like to call the masks after Mexican lady wrestler Lady Shani whose mask covers her nose and mouth.

I saw her mask. It seems that her style showed the purpose of it.

@Shavkat She looks a character from the cartoon "Aladdin" or the "Arabian Knights" cartoon from the "Banana Splits" show.

I also think it is weird to use face mask if not covering the whole face.
