Free Lunch for Customer Appreciation

Our town's 4th of July's events always seem to start off with the free lunch given by the phone/internet company for customer appreciation. This year was mostly the same as the years before, except instead of ice cream cones, they gave a cookie. The rest was a hot dog, small bag of chips and a soda. Also watermelon slice if you wanted. I know I should not have had the soda or chips, or cookie or the bread. I am on my second tall glass of water (they are 24 oz each) so hope that will help some. We also were able to spin the wheel to get a prize - Eli spun and got a shirt, and my husband and I both won a grocery tote bag (those that you can put frozen items in (or hot to keep warm). Eli and I traded though because I didn't think he'd be too into the shirt lol. Anyways - how was it with "social distancing" and stuff like that? They had a sanitization station at the start of the food line. They had sanitizers at each table. They also were giving sanitizer out in the spin the wheel for a prize line They had many tables that were all about 6 feet apart. In the past they had long tables put together pretty closely in three rows....so I think they did great at the distancing thing. The photo is mine; it's from the lunch today.

I have never had the typical American hotdog although I am fond of them. I add mayo, mustard, chili sauce, avocado sauce and sauerkraut. It has to be eated in a dish. No ketchup for me.

It was pretty good with just mustard and ketchup, but I understand we all have our own preferences. I have never tried chili sauce, avocado sauce or sauerkraut myself.

@wolfgirl569 Well they could wear them in line and otherwise lol. But it is okay - we didn't wear them either. And in restaurants the waiters don't seem to wear them anymore....and the 50% capacity thing seems to be over too - we went out for brunch Sunday all the tables were full

The whole week I'll probably be having carbs...just not from soda lol. But yes it was pretty safe except nobody wore masks.

It was nice, except that my son did not get the prize he wanted. They had airplane gliders as one and he wanted that. I guess he'll just have to play with his paper airplanes for now.

Oh yes, they definitely do...in the past there would even be a carnival in the street - but they stopped that unfortunately
