Harvested 8 clusters of banana

The banana in the backyard is now ripening so it is time to harvest. We got 8 clusters with each cluster having 15 or 16 bananas. As usual only 2 will remain and we have to give away the 6 since we cannot eat all of the bananas.

@cherigucchi the fruit trees that i have are custard apple or atis, cashew, guava, start fruit or balimbing, dragon fruit, camias, mango and banana. Those are aside from the lemon and calamansi plus strawberries.

@Adie04 that is the wonder in this type of banana. It can be eaten as is or it can be fried. Not all banana types can be fried.

If the bunches are all that big no wonder you can't eat them all.

They ripen almost all at the same time. We cannot eat all even just a cluster of 15 bananas in one day. It takes us more than 2 days to finish the cluster of 15.

@JudyEv that is good that you can buy just enough quantity. It is a shame when the fruit is wasted.

@Alexandoy We can buy pre-packaged bananas here. There might be 8 or 9 in a pack and they are not really big so we can usually eat them all before they get too ripe.

wow that's a huge harvest. you throw away the plant or use the stem for cooking a vegetable dish. We prepare cury with the stem and flowers too. Very tasty dish eaten with rice.

We do not eat the stalk if you mean the white core of the tree. It is not edible to us. With the flower or the blossom, we cook that in coconut milk or mix it with other vegetables dishes.
