Trying to shoot a butterfly

My digital camera is 8 years old and it is beginning to show in the shots. It is very slow to click so I have a hard time when I am shooting something that is moving. The picture is supposed to be a butterfly but it looks more like a bow tie of the restaurant's head waiter. Anyway, that's a lemon plant that the butterfly is looking at.

@thelme55 the issue with the phone camera is in archiving the photos. Unlike with the digital camera it is easy because the folders are created based on the date.

@Alexandoy That is what I thought. I always use my iPhone to take videos and photos of the plants, bumblebees and butterflies. I kept on stalking the animals.

A good digital camera is expensive here costing more than $1,000.

Nice photo. The bow tie appearance of a flying butterfly is because the shutter speed of your old camera lense while taking photo is very slow in comparison to the butterfly's wings flapping. I don't think old cameras have the option to change the shutter speed.

That is right, the camera is slow that I couldn't get a clear shot of the butterfly. The camera is automatic and has no function to change the speed.

@jayanth_77 that is what I do sometimes, the video will give me a clear shot. However, the resolution is not that great unlike in a picture shot.

@Alexandoy best option is to take a video and after transferring the video on your computer. Take a screen shot of the video while playing . You may get a good photo of the fast moving object. Paste the screen shot image onto a image editor like paint and save the file.

I'd say you have fantastic photography skills because it's not such a big deal to shoot a butterfly like a butterfly but look! You made a butterfly look like a bow tie without any graphic editing!! Now isn't that something?! Keep up the good work
