An off duty paramedic named Daniel Marcano was in the right place at the right time this afternoon when an apartment caught fire in Queens New York. Daniel must have called the local fire department to report the incident to get assistance from the firefighters when he entered the first floor of the apartment crawling since the first floor was filled with smoke that made it hard for him to see anything in front of him when he was able to rescue a lady who was awake but suffering from smoke inhalation. Daniel was able to drag out of the apartment to safety as well as her cat who followed her owner outside. When the local firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire, Lt. John Norman was able to rescue a man trapped inside the burning apartment by dragging him out to safety since he also was suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation. Both smoke inhalation victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital where they are in stable condition recovering from smoke inhalation. I am sure that the city officials in New York City will reward both men for doing their duty to save lives in an apartment fire in Queens.

You are right since working as a doctor, nurse, police officer and firefighter is a 24 hour job.

I'm sure the old lady was pleased that her cat followed her out.

She really was thankful that a paramedic who was off the clock saved her life.
