Reading Goal This Year - Progressing

Last night I finished my 7th book of the year: Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King. It's also been made into a movie starring Kathy Bates, years ago. It is a great story of revenge and redemption. My goal for 2020 is to read 15 books. It seems like a reasonable goal. I love reading, so it may end up being more than 15. We'll see. Do you ever set a reading goal? What have you read lately? No, I don't set reading goals. I used to be a voracious reader; but that changed with MyLot. After spending 6 hours or more on the computer each day I usually don't feel like reading after that. Maybe I'll pick it up again some day. Good luck reaching your goal.

Yes, after being on a computer so much reading can be hard on the eyes. I don't spend as much time on the computer as I used to so that does give me some extra reading time. I also try to read when the baby is taking naps or after he has gone to bed. Sometimes I sit with a book in my lap and the computer beside me and I do both! Haha.

My goal for 2020 is 55 books. I read 27 so far. The libraries here are starting to reopen select branches for grab-and-go. Luckily, the branch near my house is one of them. Maybe now I will be able to get back into reading and even reach my goal. Though since we can't browse for books and have to put them on hold and then pick them up I am not sure what to do. I don't have specific titles I want to read.

@MissNikki 55 is not a lot. Some people read over 100 books a year. Now that is impressive. I think there is a mylotter here who does that.

I've never set a reading goal for novels or story books but I often set goals when I was a student

@MissNikki Go you! You're doing so well with the reading. I love Stephen King. I haven't had a chance to read any books though but I've seen a handful of movies and some of them over and over again. I THINK I know what movie you are talking about! But only remember a small scene or two. Good luck with your goal! I will be starting reading again soon-ish.

Thank you! I am pretty close to my goal, think I am just about 2 books away. I have been on a Stephen King kick this year, reading lots of his stuff.

I do not have a reading goal, but I've definitely read more this year than last year. you're already halfway there and it's only halfway through the year so I think you'll make it to your goal :) I haven't read this book and I've only seen part of the movie adaptation, but I'm going to add it to my book list! right now I'm reading The Au Pair by Emma Rous

Yes, I think I will make my goal as well. I hope you do enjoy it if you do read it. I haven't heard of the book you are reading, but sounds interesting!

I started to read a story that longer than a children story book. Because I easily lose focus, so I need to start from scratch.

@MissNikki I can read fantasy books like Chronicles of Narnia (if the genre is correct) but usually I read one page, or the least one chapter. Then I nap, continue again
