Yesterday and Today

Yesterday the hubby and I hit the outdoors and attempted to get the yard picked up and mowed. He was surprised by how much the grass grew since we had just mowed before we left for our trip to Branson.
We had lots of limbs down due to a storm that came through right before we left. That was one bid job in itself that took over an hour. It was a hot and humid morning also.
We managed to get that done and we lit the burn pile to get the limbs burnt and taken care of. That part didn't finish before the rain came but we got the yard done.
Today we have more rain coming in. I got outdoor chores done early. I got up early due to my daughter's request to keep her company by chatting while my grandson has a procedure done at the hospital. He is having his front teeth capped due to enamel being worn off.
Most of the things I potted before my trip survived. I have day lilies that came in the day before we left that I had to pot real quick. They are looking good and shooting up new leaves. One looks like it wants to bloom!
Everything is super wet so no watering will need to be done for today or tomorrow. I hope we get some sun to help dry things up! I'll work in the house this afternoon when the rain hits. In the meantime, I will sneak out and try to get some weeding done in the garden!
What do you have planned for today?
Photo is part of the front yard with our ancient old oak tree.

Nice looking yard. It has been hot, hot, hot with no rain. Today I made some calls and am MyLotting (trying to catch up). Have a great Tuesday!

@kareng Where have you been writing? I've been very bad; but I have spent most of my time here and haven't written anywhere else.

@kareng I was there for a while. Cashed out once. I didn't care for the atmosphere. Like it here better.

You will get caught up soon. Send some of that rain our way. We could use it now.

@wolfgirl569 Well no projects really. I did do some more laundry and I managed to get two articles submitted to another site for publication. I do miss writing!

Is that a photo of your house and yard? If so, it's a beautiful home! I would love to live in a house like that.
Got in my morning walk and a trip to the bank before the torrential rains started up this morning. I consider that a blessing on a day like Monday! lol

Yep, it is the old homestead that was built in 1860. There is always something that needs doing to the house and/or yard! The only regret in buying is the handyman they hired to do certain things before it was put up for sale. He wasn't much of a handyman. The painting inside is horrible with paint on baseboards and door jambs. He also painted the thresholds which would have looked much better in the natural wood stain. Other stuff done cheaply and the paint job on the outside apparently wasn't exterior paint as it peeled off within a year.

@kareng The previous owners probably did a hurry up job just to quickly prepare the property for sale. It's such a shame that more care wasn't put into it. Hopefully, it's all cosmetic stuff that can be repaired without costing an arm and a leg.

@moffittjc The previous owners were split on selling. He wanted to keep it. He would shoot deer off the porch. She wanted to flip the house. She didn't make anything on the sale and actually went under what they paid for it. I'm a good negotiator!

You have been busy doing lots around the yard. Is that a craftsman house? It's so adorable and neat!
We had to put off our lawn service last Thursday, because they arrived just after the lawn was treated by another service for ticks and mosquitos. It looks like a jungle today.
I played tennis all morning with hubs, gardened with him, and just finished laundry.

Today I washed my shower curtain liner and washed my face mask I wore Saturday. I also looked up some stuff for a Christmas list.
