Joann's won't let me cancel my order and other things on my mind

So, as I often do, I got to thinking about a decision I made earlier. I decided earlier that I would not cancel my order with Joann's quite yet. Well, I looked this up and apparently Joann's does not let me cancel my order. I feel like if I raised enough stink about it they would do something. One thing is for sure, I will wait this out but I will also never order from them again. I think it's ridiculous that you can't cancel an order but you can return it. I am going to complain to them about that actually.. I may buy some yarn from Hobby Lobby. I haven't completely decided yet. I did decide, and already have, gotten rid of a $6 a month wireless protection plan that I had on my phone. Now my bill is $30 a month, and I am thinking of paying a little extra anyway just so I have some credit built up with them and can pay less if necessary a month or two.

I agree. Many of us change our minds, and should always have the option to cancel an order.

I also think that cancellation of an order or service is a way to uphold a company to a higher level of service. Joann's says that they are having difficulties with online orders because of an influx of them, but other craft stores are experiencing the same without such a delay. I sent off a complaint form just a few moments ago and there was an automated message that said essentially the same thing it said about online orders.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That should be no excuse. That is a good thing to have more orders. Customer service is important.

@CarolDM Yes, I agree. Someone here told me that Joann's has always dropped the ball on online orders. I am not even sure if we have a Joann's here in town anymore. If it wasn't for the virus, I'd consider returning the items at the store when I get them.

I think we should be able to cancel an order in a reasonable timeframe that is. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@gr8nana6 Yes I can. I do want it though. It has the grey yarn that I want for my pink blanket and it also has crochet hooks. Another person brought up just returning it, but then I'd have to wait longer or else go to a physical store. Neither of which I want to do.

I agree with you. It would be another thing altogether if the item had shipped, but since I haven't received such an email... Here I am looking at HobbyLobby and thinking to myself "Oh but that's a great price!" and "I can use rakuten and get 2% cashback!"

@ScribbledAdNauseum Can you at least return it after you get it, if you don't want it?

That's really annoying. They seem to be having some really awful problems with order fulfillment right now, if what I've seen on my Facebook feed is any indication. One of my friends is still waiting on an order she placed back in March, for crying out loud. Whoever designed that system really dropped the ball on that one.

With Joann's? Yeah I am not going to order from them ever again. I was thinking about it just now and I really do think I ordered from them several years ago and had trouble. I feel like not allowing anyone to cancel is indicative of their inability to get the things done. They probably had too many people cancelling orders because of how slow they are.

If we change our minds we should be able to cancel.

I agree, or if they are taking longer than is necessary.

Not at all. I've complained. I also just placed an order with Hobby Lobby to make myself feel better. In my defense, the yarn was cheap and I was left unsupervised.

I once ever wanted to cancel an order that took a long time to arrived. Man the seller threats me not to saying that they will not get the money

Oh that was not right of the seller! Of course they should not get the money if they are taking so long!

@Adie04 Yes, it would be nice if we could do no stars, or a different colored star if we weren't very pleased with an item.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I know right! When the item arrived, I put only 1 star as no option to put no star

I am going to have to go back on your posts as I do not know exactly what this is about. I thought that most places gave you up until the items ship to cancel, but what do I know?

I'll go ahead and tell you here. I ordered yarn from Joann.com and at the top it said that processing may be longer than usual. However, I have not received any kind of email about it being shipped, and it is now July 7th. I looked, and apparently Joann's does not let you cancel your order, you can return it though.

Maybe you waited a bit too long to do it...I think Amazon has a time limit on doing it too, not sure.

No. Joann's doesn't even give you the option to cancel. You could place an order and two seconds later go "nah, that was stupid of me I'm going to cancel." but it's just not possible

That is normal that we changed our mind. I am sorry that you can“t cancel your order.

I sent an email to complain about it. Not that I think it will do any good. I seem to remember ordering from Joann's years ago and having similar issues.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I see. You should remember not to order from that shop again.

@thelme55 Yes, I will definitely do that. Even if they have a good price, I'd rather pay more and get my item faster!

If it takes too much longer, you should be able to cancel...unless it's already out for delivery.

Right, but I can't cancel. They won't let you cancel under any circumstance but you can return. Returning is more of a hassle and I actually do want the items.

@LindaOHio I do too. I think I've only returned something maybe once in my life. Well, no that's not exactly true. I think I've returned a food item before, but usually I just eat the cost of whatever it was and think twice before going with that company again.
