The time I took a psych test while hungry

As some of you might already know, I took psychology as my major in college. During junior year, we had a major subject where we were taught how to give psychological tests and analyze them. But it was also the time when we would take electives based on our research interests. So back then, I was the only one among my friends to take a Biological Psychology course as my elective subject. I don't remember the schedule for which day it was, but I was sure that it ended at 12:30 pm. Now the problem was the next subject. It starts at 1:00 pm and goes on straight until 3:00 pm. Although the professor lets us have our lunch during class, we were never allowed to bring any food into the examination room. So that day, we had our first taste of taking a battery of tests. And by battery, I mean one and a half hour's worth of tests! Maybe you're thinking, why not have a five minute lunch? The thing is, our school was really wide. By wide, I mean that the distance between my Biological Psychology classroom and the examination area was at least a mile long. Tricycles (motorcycles with a wheeled compartment for a side passenger) were available to bring students to far classrooms but on that specific day there were no available tricycles. They were all busy bringing people! So I did what I had to do. I ran as fast as I can, not to the testing room, nor to look for more tricycles. Nope! I ran to this small stall that sold fried tofu and bought some to eat on the way. And then I brisk walked to the examination room with barely enough energy to take an IQ test and some stomach fuel to keep me barely awake. And then I waited. I waited for so long that I regretted having done what I did. I hated to be late for that day and even my friends who were my classmates on that class kept texting me to hurry. But no, I was there early because our professor was late for 30 minutes. He said he was late because he couldn't find a tricycle to bring him there.

At high school we regularly had exams that were 3 hours long. But we always had time for lunch first.

Scheduling was really poor for Psychology students back then in our school. And all those tests had to be done during the class so... But still, it was fun. In a weird way.

The walk would have been good for your professor.

It definitely would have been haha! But then again, skimping on lunch is bad for the body...

Good story! Speaking of tests, I took the SAT when I had the stomach flu. I still did pretty well but I'm sure I would have scored better if half my mind was not saying "am I going to be sick?"

SATs are really hard tests! I'm glad you got a good score. There's this story from a friend of mine who said to be careful of what you eat before tests. Apparently, he ate a lot of curry during lunch break and had an upset stomach all afternoon.

@Tierkreisze That must have not been fun eating on the run and here you were not late and the professor was. So did you get something to eat after 3 pm when the test was done?

I think all examination rooms cannot bring any forms of food. Drinks only allowed.

They let us bring food if we had to take our lectures in those rooms. But most of the time, they're used for other purposes. I really wish I sneaked a lunchbox in though.
