Baby Bluebirds Three Days Old

All three baby bluebirds are alive and well in my backyard bluebird house this morning. Each day is a new day for these babies. The parents continue to feed them and stay close to protect them. I too am keeping a check. A quick peek inside the house to make sure no bugs or other predators have gotten insects. It is very important to monitor these bird houses. Glad to report good news today. Snapped this quick photo with my phone as I peeked in just now.

How much longer until those little fellows start growing feathers? And how are you able to peak in and get a photo without mom or dad having a say about it?

@CarolDM Amazing how the feathers grow in so fast. Are your nights warm enough that the babies don't have to worry about hypothermia?

They are in a bird house with a door. The parents are sitting on a tree nearby, talking to me. I am quick, in and out. They will get feathers in the next few days.

Any noise they hear at this age, they open their mouths, thinking it is the parents with food. In a few days they will not do this.

How sweet! (I’m not going to lie and say they’re “cute,” because at that stage they’re butt ugly....but it’s still new life and very precious!)
