I knit socks. I crochet sweaters. I crochet and knit shawls. I crochet hats. Yeah, I still play with yarn.

There are many Learn To Crochet videos on YouTube that you can watch. There is a channel there that I follow and she shows how to make MANY different items. I made a sweater while following her instruction on the video. I made 2 of them from the same video. Her channel is Bag O Day Crochet. She has videos about making bags and purses, sweaters, kitchen accessories, dresses for little girls, summer tops, and just all kinds of stuff.

@Lavanya15 Oh, cool! Just like with anything else, it takes a lot of practice to get good at crocheting and knitting. I do both so that I don't get bored with doing just one. I also like it that I can switch from one to the other to use muscles differently so they don't get too sore.

I've crocheted a lot over the years. I prefer crocheting to knitting as it's faster and easier to undo! lol Lately I've been crocheting beanies for prem babies. A friend gave me a lot of baby wool so I've been using that for these beanies.

I agree that crocheting is faster and easier to undo! But knitting has prettier stitching. LoL Were you involved with making anything for the joeys during the fire there? I have crocheted quite a few beanies for my donation box the last couple of years. One year I donated a bunch of beanies for kids to a local community center. Last year, I donated a bunch to a food pantry in the town across the river from where I live.

@JudyEv Up here in the USA, Joann's Fabrics was sponsoring making items for joeys and koalas. There was a pattern for making pouches and crochet patterns for little beds.

@bluerubymoon53 I'm not sure what was needed for the joeys but I can't sew for nuts. I like having something to do with my hands in the evenings.

I knit and crochet just about every day. Last week, when it was very humid out, I noticed that the yarn I was using was a little harder to work with. It had a very slight damp feel to it.

@bluerubymoon53 I spent most of my time drawing and even that is a little tasking when it is hot since I am hunched at a computer haha I get rashes if I crochet when it is all hot and sweaty.

Do you use wool or acrylic yarn for your pullovers? I used a nice wool yarn for a cardigan that I crocheted for a friend of mine. Now all I need to do is ship it to him.

If you cannot shop locally for any yarn, patterns, or accessories, there are lots of sources on the internet that you can check out. Same way for learning how to crochet if you don't already know how.

@bluerubymoon53 I know...but I know only the basic techniques. Nothing more than that. I hope I had my mother here with me
