We went to Ann Arbor today/yesterday-thurs for an appt for my hubby with a specialist. We went in December after his Oct of 2019 surgeries, then he had a zoom appt in April and we return in November. If all continues to improve next year we'll only have to go once. While waiting for everything I finished my notifications. When I came home I had three new ones and after a nap ten and now, in Fri 20 more. But we want them right?
We don't have air conditioning in our house. When we moved here there was an attic fan which worked great to cool the house down later in the day. Back then we never had days upon days of ninety degree weather so it wasn't too bad. Then the pulley broke but we got that fixed then put gas handy man moved away and finally it broke again. Each year my husband had been more miserable.
I'm hoping we can get air next year but we may need new drainage tiles around the perimeter of all our part of the house and I think we should wait on air until that's worked out. In the mean time I though maybe getting a dehumidifier would be a good idea since the one in the basement always blows cold air while working. It's still hot which I new it wouldn't take care of that but I'd hoped most of our indoor heat was humidity and not just the heat.
Yesterday I purchased a portable air conditioner. Well try it out and see if that works better. It's mainly for one room at a time but it looks like this heat might continue longer than anticipated.
Our router died yesterday and I forgot I could shoot wifi off to post this so had to wait till today to remember.

I will. I hope it's everything the review said because I bought one for me and one for my daughter's fiance's place for a present.
I wish my friends told me about them before we paid for the dehumidifiers

@MarshaMusselman I remember that I made a review of "portable conditioners" when I was writing for Squidoo and I even sold several through the Amazon links.

Had i known there was such a thing I would have bought only those. Plus they're less expensive. I'm hoping I can find someone that needs one and sell it for somewhat less but still keep most of the money I paid.

Our son has an attic fan.
It is very loud and shakes the entire house, he keeps it turned off, but they have central air conditioning.
I have heard such great reviews of those portable air conditioners. I know right here on the site there have been members who have discussed it. I hope that you can do some research on them and find one that is reliable and in stock.

I will look for mylot tags on them but I already bought two. One for us and one for my daughter once she's married. They will live over a pile barn until they can better afford their own place.

I have air conditioner in my study. It is portable if I really want to move it but rarely do. My office gets terribly hot in the summer. As for humidifiers they just make the place humid and horrible I hate them. I am not aware of dehumidifiers if it takes out the moisture that might be good but I guess you have to empty them often?

The dehumidifier in the basement is hooked to a house that dressings the water into a floor drain so I rarely have to do anything with that one.
The one upstairs, yes we have to empty it at least daily. It must be helping some as my husband's had even emptied it from time to time.

I hope you only need one appointment next year. I'm sorry the attic fan broke. I hope the new air conditioner works well to cool the house.

My router also went down but gladly it was just the charger that was faulty

We bought one but it had yet to work. I'm figuring out all my cords when I call our provider and they all me to move the cords into different spots that I can easily access them.
