I admire the way that 12 year old Ashlyn Coxe is sharing her love of reading books by traveling with her mom Melissa to different libraries in Pitt County which in North Carolina. Ashlyn has over 1,300 books as part of her project which is called Bat Mitzvah. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, schools and libraries have closed. Melissa is proud of the work her daughter is doing since she has found out that when anyone reads a book, it makes them feel better since reading a book takes them to places they have never been before and opens up their world.

I have seen one of these little loaner book huts pop up in our small town by historical landmark. It is a great idea for many different things. They have a few in Baton Rouge to help feed the homeless. You could also do one for everyday essentials: toothpaste, antibiotic, socks, face masks, hair brushes, soap, etc.

That's a wonderful project. My granddaughter and grandson have been donating their books, toys, and stuffed animals to shelters since they were toddlers.

@Deepizzaguy Thanks, George. Their mom started them with thinking of others when they were very young. It's amazing how kids can truly be so caring.
