A concert and an endurance ride

We’ve had two nights away in our caravan. The first night we attended a concert in a very small country hall. It was a very cold night and there was no heating in the hall. It was still enjoyable but I was a bit annoyed that, after advertising a 7.00pm start, the singer didn’t get going until 7.40. A few minutes late is acceptable but I thought 40 minutes was a bit steep especially on such a cold night. And it wasn’t as if the musicians had been held up.
Early next morning we moved to take photos at a horse endurance ride. Although it stayed cold all day, it didn’t rain so we were thankful for a sunny day. There was a frost this morning but we’re home now and processing photos ready to put them up on our website. The ride went off well with no accidents which is always a good thing.
The photo is of one of the competitors. His horse is an Appaloosa. Competitors had to wear masks in the vet ring and everyone complied which was good. All horses are thoroughly inspected before and during the ride. By trotting them away from and back towards the vet, any lameness can be picked up. Luckily, lameness in a rider does not result in disqualification.

I think it is the height of rudeness and bad manners to be late. Ok 5-10 minutes but longer than that is just plain wrong. When you say it was cold how cold? I like your new profile photo!

@JudyEv OH yes 0C would be chilly but 14-16 would be lovely! Nice and fresh! I guess in the summer when it is in the 30's it is too hot for me. 26C is just nice! WE have 22C today which is nice it should get up to 26 by the end of the week perhaps?

@garymarsh6 Nice and fresh is okay but the nights are cold if you're camping. Many of the riders sleep in swags or in their floats (trailers). We have the caravan and Vince has installed a diesel heater which is the best thing since sliced bread. lol

40 minutes is nothing here. Here they would usually say the concert would start at 7 but the singer won't come out until one or two hours after.
I love your new profile pic by the way.

@JudyEv We call ours Filipino time. It means always late. And when we announced any meetings or engagement, we usually say the time plus "American time." That means on the dot and nobody should be late.

Wow... enjoy. Are you talking about the present or a trip you took in the past

@wolfgirl569 Some of the older riders get someone else to run their horse out for them.

It's inconsiderate, for the singer to begin 40 minutes late:( I love the Appaloosa photo, what a gorgeous specimen!

I thought so. I was getting pretty browned off by the time she eventually started.

that sounds like a blast - that is one of my wife's goals to just take off and go places in an RV!

I can thoroughly recommend it. Just do it before you start getting too old. But maybe after the virus has disappeared. :(

The concert was indoors; the endurance ride was out of doors.

Occasionally someone comes off their horse but all went well this time. Thanks.
