Disclaimer: This post is just to enlighten to the truth not to hurt anyone's emotion. . . Hello all, my topic of discussion already in the title. Don't get me wrong but according to all religious view the meat of boar or pig is forbidden. Boar/ pig is the dirtiest animal in this world and if you eat pork it can produce 70 probable diseases. This is not my personal view! A schooler mentioned that the holy bible and the holy Quran says that pork is forbidden for we human. Do you know this truth already or you know but doesn’t follow religious views? It also forbidden according to medical views too! I'm thankful that I've never tasted pork. And I wish to never have it as I follow my religion sincerely and soulfully! Hope you get my point. Thanks for reading

Why is pork meat dirty though? Well, I guess it's because pigs are omnivorous and would eat pretty much everything, making their meat unsafe. I doubt farmers give them the best quality food, they're usually given waste or leftovers. I do eat pork though. However, I'm not much of a meat-eater. Anyway, there are good alternatives to pork. Not chicken, I don't like chicken. More like beef sausages. But yeah, beef is way more expensive.

I'm going to quote this text: "On large factory farms, pigs are often overfed and confined to small, overcrowded spaces, preventing them from following their naturally clean instincts and contributing to the stereotype of pigs as dirty animals." [sources: The Humane Society, PBS Nature]. It is certainly not recommended to eat pork, but for another reason: The high risk of contracting the following diseases: 1) Hepatitis E. 2) Multiple Sclerosis. 3) Liver Cancer and Cirrhosis. 4) Infection with Yersinia bacteria. It is undoubtedly best not to eat pork.

i don't remember it being forbidden in my religion. when a relative had shingles, the only thing that she could eat that did not make it worse was pork. i was intrigued by this and found out it was because pork had lysine. what then should be done to pork around the world if it's claimed to be forbidden by all religions and medical views?

How did you get the wrong info that pork is not forbidden according to medical views? Pork is an excellent source of protein, vitamins and minerals. A 3-ounce serving of pork is an “excellent” source of thiamin, selenium, protein, niacin, vitamin B-6 and phosphorus, and a good source of zinc, riboflavin and potassium. I like pork even if I do not consume it often and it is not forbidden by my religion.

Pork is certainly not forbidden to all! The Muslim and Jewish religions and certain small Christian sects forbid its use. Some people do not eat it, either out of custom or by choice, even though their religion (if they have one) doesn't forbid it. In Genesis 9 v.3, when God is outlining his covenant to Noah after the flood, He says:"Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." (NIV). It is not until much later (in Leviticus) that certain foods, pork among them, are forbidden by law. Islam, of course, borrowed much of its law from the Jewish religion. Pigs are, essentially, very clean animals, if kept humanely. They have their own toilet area where possible and they prefer clean water to mud, if given the choice. Unfortunately, they are often kept in less than ideal conditions and fed on scraps or what they can find for themselves on rubbish heaps. Genuine medical advice does not 'forbid' eating pork. It can, of course, carry disease, as any meat can, but provided that one can be sure that it has been properly farmed it is no more harmful than any red meat,
