If there is one thing a lot of us fear in life, it would be being stuck inside of an elevator inside of a building. On Thursday evening an elevator that was stuck inside of the Greene Homes apartment complex in Bridgeport. Due to the lack of air to breathe inside of the elevator that was likely blacked out, several of the elevator riders needed medical help after the Bridgeport firefighters used a rope tactic to assist the stricken riders to get medical help from the EMTs who assisted them to recover. The cause of the elevator breakdown is being investigated by the authorities. Thank goodness the local firefighters came to their rescue after a concerned person contacted the authorities.

I already got stucked in an elevator but not for a very long so I know how it feels lol. That's the reason I always take the stairs whenever possible.

It is always a nightmare to get stuck in an elevator. Great job by fire fighters to rescue the people trapped in the elevator. It deserves full praise.

I take an elevator a lot since I have a son in a wheelchair. It is awful the elevator stopped working. I feel sorry due to the lack of air left inside the broken down elevator. Thank goodness the people were rescued by fire fighters.

The only time I use an elevator is if walking by stairs is too much for me to handle like having to walk more than two stories.

@nela13 I see your point since I am going to need to do some more stair walking to shed some pounds.

I know how you feel since real life is scarier than seeing a fictional version of being trapped inside of an elevator.

I have never heard of persons running out of air inside of an elevator in real life either. Just in the cartoons or movies.

@CarolDM Even though in the television shows where it is what likely happened is played by actors, the real life version is scarier.

Firefighters are true heroes. A hero isn't some sports star. But firefighters are heroes. I'm thankful for all they do. And I hope everyone stuck in the elevator will be okay.

Firefighters are real heroes. Sports stars are just entertainers that get paid money to play a kids game.
