I always have

I've talked about this here with a few people before. The fact that I have always created stories in my mind, for as long back as I can remember. I don't think that this is something unique to me, but I do believe I probably have done it more than most. One of my earliest memories of doing this involves going to the eye doctor. The eye doctor I saw as a child had one of his offices downtown. My sister and I usually had appointments together, and occasionally my brother as well. My head was already hurting most of the time, but then talk radio was usually turned on in the car. At that age I felt like going to the eye doctors took forever. I would make up stories about adventures I was having, or more often than not, a character like me was having. That didn't stop after I grew up and started working. In fact, it became a coping mechanism in my most recent job. It's always been a coping mechanism for me, though I don't think I've ever written out any of the stories that I think up in this manner. Do you create stories in your head?

Yes, I do create stories in my head especially if I have to go to the dentist. I always imagine while sitting on that dentist chair, that I am in an island alone at the beach and enjoying the sounds of the waves. It helps me overcome my fear of being in the dentist.

All the time. I should write some of them down.

I find the ones that I want to write down always come to me after I've gotten offline. I don't like handwriting them as the thoughts come faster than my hand will write.

I guess I do now and then. Maybe you should write up some of these stories. Short stories sell well.

@Bensen32 I know it sounds weird. A lot of the stories in my head are repetitive. I just play the same scene over in different ways. It has fueled my love for writing though.

Nah, those are sort of personal to me. I do write, and I want to become an accomplished author. Just not with the stories "in my head"
