A different breakfast. Discovered riches.

After I wrote my grocery list and discovered that I have food for Luna for over a month, I decided to think again what I need. I saw that some of the items were luxuries. Now that I live alone, I tend to say to myself that what I´m buying will not be so expensive if I make it last long. It was the sentence that made me put on weight with chocolates. They never last long I know that I need a few things. I will need eggs. But after the next time I looked, I found out that even eggs could be changed for other food. I will not eat eggs for breakfast. And that started another search. I remembered the apricot jam I had left from last December. So today I ate my daily bread with butter and apricot jam (a lot). Delicious! I have meat for 2 more roast beefs. That means also cold cuts for breakfast. And I have a veal tongue that goes a long way. In these months where money matter in a different way, we feel blessed when we discover that we have more than what we thought. I am sharing a bit, as much as I can. And I still play at the freerice.com site.

You are being very wise. I over order vegetables, so will definitely cut back on those when I place an order tomorrow.

I had to throw a package of spinach the last time I order. Those leafy veggies are too big for the fridge if you over buy. Besides, I did not want to place them with the rest of the food until they were virus processed. And I forgot.. There are other veggies we can eat instead.

@DianneN I know. I also have 2 vegetable bins in the fridge but I would not place a bunch a spinach, lettuce or kale full of germs there. I will not catch the virus after being bored at home for over 3 months

@marguicha I wash everything that goes into the fridge with soap and water and sanitize cartons, jars, and bags, I'm a germaphobe as it is. I am lucky to have two large vegetable bins in the refrigerator and sanitize them every week before the delivery comes. They say food doesn't have the virus, but I can't be too careful.

I sometimes find some treasures at home, so I don't need to buy so much foods.. I have learned so much information about health.. Intermittent fasting seems to be more popular among health people..

@marguicha It does sound more hard than we think.. I start eating in the afternoon - first yogurt with fruit and berries, chia seeds and lineflower seeds and a little pumkin seeds.. later whatever I like within 8 hours or so - it is not hard..

Isn't it interesting how this virus situation has changed our grocery shopping and eating behaviors? I am really trying hard not let anything go to waste . . . even cooking extra things now to use things up. Why didn't I do this before .

@marguicha Although I can never be completely vegan, we are trying to eat less meat too.

That's good actually. We need to manage and reduce our extra expenses because it's not easier to earn money these days
