Offering help to a stranger is an amazing feeling!

Lately I have been motivated again trying to go through my things to see what I can sell or donate. My goal is to keep trying to reduce the items in my house as well as make some extra cash. I have a lot of things to sort through. Anyway I managed to sell something tonight. A lady came to my house to pick up the item and we got talking for a little bit. She was explaining that on the 4th of August she has to have brain surgery as some lumps have been found. She did explain that as a child she had cancer which she thankfully beat but certain things have been popping up here and there during her life that required many doctor appointments and hospital trips. She then told me how the item (or items rather, it was some arts and crafts stuff) was of high interest to her to keep her busy until her surgery. I so badly wanted to give her a hug but I still have this damn cold! I'm gaining more symptoms than losing them! Anyway! She then told me her and her friend are trying to make an online fundraiser for those who are suffering with cancer. I wished her all the best with her surgery (I also wrote down a note for myself so on the 4th I can message her on Facebook to wish her good luck) and I told her that if she was comfortable, when her online fundraiser was up and running, if she could send me the link so I could then pass it on to my friends and for them to pass it on to their friends etc to see if we can help out. It's such a simple thing for me to do but just offering that, she started to get teary and thanked me. Sometimes it really doesn't take much to make someone's day or make them feel less alone and / or supported. I feel great and will keep my word. I feel happy to be able to help this stranger.

@amitkokiladitya Thank you kindly and I agree. I truly believe we all need to be more helpful and supportive towards one another instead of all the fighting that is going on.

@LadyDuck Thank you so much Anna. She seems so sweet. She added me on Facebook and she gave me the link so I shared it on Facebook. I will be donating myself soon as I work out how to do that on GoFundMe. Or I will just give her the money another way.

@VivaLaDani13 There is one thing that I cannot understand about the GoFundMe organization and it is why they do not accept PayPal payments. Many people do not want to give their credit cards data and they renounce to donate.

@simone10 I know what you mean. i feel I'd crumble with something like this. But at the same time, I think us humans can be so amazing when it comes to dealing with certain things. Some times those sorts of situations can force us to become something we never thought we could be. ( brave, strong etc )

It is good to help Others. But with people's behavior, it is hard to know if they need help genuinely or they are bluffing.

@ExplorewtMe I agree. I was being very cautious. But I do believe this woman is being truthful as she's now added me to Facebook and I can see the times shes been sick ( with photos ) and her head shaved / being in hospital etc.

That is nice of you. I like to share those funding links also. When you get it, please share with me and I will share on Facebook as well. The more the merrier. My mother and I got a lot of help following the fire, and I like to pass it along. We all need help at some time or another in our lives. You never think it will be you and then BAM! Poor lady, her situation is so depressing. She is lucky to have met you.

@VivaLaDani13 Our town in California, Paradise, burned down Nov. 8, 2018. I won't go into all the details. But we experienced such generosity I'll always remember. It restores your faith in humanity.

@CinnamonGrl Thank you Sue! And another thank you for wanting to share the link! I shared it the other day and shall be donating myself. I will message you the link. I'm so sorry to hear about a fire. I'm afraid I do not know that story. I hope all is ok? I don't wish to pry if you don't feel like talking about it. Thank you for your kind words and you're right about everything you said. It's nice to want to help people. We need a lot more of that right now.

You have such a kind heart. Even your small gesture probably meant the world to that woman. I hope she is able to get her fundraiser up and running and that it is successful in helping other people. Sometimes it's the little things we do that matter the most.

@Sambriel Aw thank you Sam. And yeah I do believe in that to some extent. Not that I expect good things to return back to me but I tend to find myself giving way more than receiving even when I'm close to having no more left. But it does make me feel good.
