Riding through the bush

On Thursday, we hooked up our caravan and went to a friend’s place for the night before going on to a horse endurance ride to take photos. At this particular ride, some rode 80kms, while others rode 40, 20 or 10kms. There was also a 5 km leadline ride for children who weren’t competent to ride on their own. The little lass in the photo enjoyed her 5km ride and it looks as though her mother and her mount did too. I’m sure they all enjoyed their wander along bush tracks. Now we’re home again and Vince is processing some 600 photos. I took about 300 photos but I will go through and cull out at least a third of these. In trying to ‘fill the frame’ by zooming in, I tend to cut heads or tails (of the horses) or their feet, or the rider’s heads. But I’m getting better with practice.

It sure does look like the little girl, her mother, and the mount are enjoying themselves out in the bush. It's always nice when we can get outside and enjoy nature. I just need summer to be over here so it will cool down enough to make it enjoyable to be outside again.

Looks like you had a great time, and so did others. 600 photographs is quite huge! If it were me, processing plus editing so many would take a number of days!

We have spent all day processing - well, Vince did! - and have now finished. I go through the ones I've taken and delete any that aren't worth processing. And I straighten up a few horizons - haha. Vince now puts them in zip files then they are uploaded to the website with a watermark being automatically applied. Sometimes this process goes easily but other times there can be hassles.

I rode a lot when I was young then had carriage horses later in life. Eventually, as you get older, it becomes more work than pleasure.
