A sailor travels from Portugal to Argentina to visit his relatives

An Argentina native named Juan Manuel Ballestero had to use his experience as a sailor that his father taught him as a child growing up.
I have to give my respects to Ballestero who was originally supposed to take a flight from Portugal to Argentina.
The one problem taking a flight from Portugal to Argentina was that due to the Coronavirus, all flights from Portugal to South America were placed on hold.
So Ballestero had to go with a backup plan which was to sail a boat by himself from Porto Santo Portugal to Mar Del Plata Argentina which lasted 85 days.
What made his trip from Portugal to Argentina a challenge was that authorities in Cape Verde refused to let him stock up on food and refuel his boat.
Ballestero had to rely on the wind to get from Portugal to Argentina safely.
When Ballestero arrived at Mar Del Plata, he had to take a COVID-19 test which came negative after a period of 72 hours before he could see his relatives.
I have to give Ballestero points for courage to travel a very long distance by boat by himself to reunite with his relatives since he loves to sail on a boat.

Thiss is a story I will have to share with my friend Humberto. He is a true sailor. But sailing alone is very dangerous, specially now.

In this time of trouble, a sailor needs to work with a partner or crew.

I agree with you since traveling by himself from Portugal to Argentina is not for the faint of heart.

That's truly a daredevil kind of person. The extreme cold weather and rough seas and shortage of food supplies must have been a challenge .
