Miami offers flights to Caribbean Islands, Central America and South America. I wonder when the USA will be safe again for travellers. Which is your nearest airport? Do you have a long distance to reach a major airport?

Did you ever fly from Miami to the Caribbean or Puerto Rico? I had many times and I cannot say that I found the Miami airport "excellent", I loved a lot more to go from Orlando airport, that is an excellent airport! The nearest airport is "Milano Malpensa", it is in Italy, but we have all International Flights from there and it is 20 minutes from home.

@LadyDuck It is an excellent idea to fly from Zurich Airport. Sorry that Milano Malpensa Airport is a mess. Bristol Airport is my nearest and a bus goes to there which is expensive. It doesn't travel in the night time and plenty of flights get back at 2 in the morning. Therefore we have to take a taxi. I prefer to fly from London Gatwick Airport or London Heathrow Airport.

We were meant to be flying from Miami Airport to Antigua and fly back from Trinidad to Miami Airport. Then the virus canceled our trip for this year. I flew direct London to St Lucia in the Caribbean. I see you live 20 minutes away from Milano Malpensa Airport.

@maximax8 So it was just a guessing that Miami airport is a great airport. I live 20 minutes from Milano Malpensa and 3 hours from Zürich airport, that is the one I would choose should I decide to go somewhere again. Milano Malpensa is a mess.

It is lovely to see you. So your local airport only has domestic flights. My nearest airport is Bristol and it had European destinations.

I could actually walk to our airport from where I live (it’d take a couple of hours, but.....). Thanks to my ears (I have tinnitus) and other health issues (including a fear of heights) I don’t travel by air anymore.

@maximax8 — thank you, but I prefer driving. I get to see things, and if I see. Sign that piques my interest I can explore it. When we flew over the Grand Canyon the only way to satisfy an interest was either jump out of the plane or book a flight to the Grand Canyon.

@FourWalls I would love to see the Grand Canyon. I see you prefer to drive your car. I think people can take a train and a bus from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon. It would be amazing to see the Grand Canyon by a sightseeing plane.

I can't wait until it is safe to travel again. I want to go to the beach so bad but I'm not staying in a hotel room right now. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and we have an airport here.

I wonder when it will be safe to travel again. I couldn't go on my trip to the USA and the Caribbean in April 2020 due to the virus. When the danger of catching this virus I hope that you will visit a beach and have an excellent time there.

@simone10 Thanks for saying that you are sorry about my trip. I am finding it challenging to book another trip. I am trying to book out where is safe and affordable to go to. I would love to visit Miami because it is the gateway to lots of other areas like Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

It is a pity travel is banned in India. I was able to visit India in 2018. I was able to do a safari in Pench National Park. I had an excellent look around the city of Mumbai.

My son flew out of Miami when he went to Brazil. I have used that airport, but many years ago. We have many smaller airports around here, but the closest major airport would be Reagan National about an hour and a half from here.

Once the pandemic is over or the vaccine has been found, it is the only time air travel will be safe again

Wow. You live fairly close the airport. English people currently in Spain have had a change. They must have 14 days inside when the get back to England. If a country is on the list of safe countries the situation can change quickly.
