Hi everyone ! Water and electricity are essential for us. However, water bills are getting expensive over the years. A decade ago, monthly water bill was $4 but now it had sum up to $14 per month with the same number of people in the household. I usually conserve water at home, if possible. Here are some tricks that I learnt from my mom 1) use 1st wash out put of the laundry wash to clean toilet or the car porch. 2) when brushing teeth, off the tap water. Do not let the water flow while brushing your teeth. 3) Use a basin of water to wash greens instead of turning on the tap water. So how do you conserve water at home?

those months that my 3rd brother was here, our water bills went up thrice the normal, because he would endlessly water the plants from sunset to dusk, even in the morning. now that he is leaving for UK, we hope our electric and water bills will go back to its normal rate again.

I pay around $ 15 per month for water, that is not a lot considering that we have a garden. I never let the water running when I wash the teeth. To water the garden I collect rain water.

Sorry that your water bill has gone up. I had a water meter put in and it has made our water bill go down. I try to add bedding to clothes in my washing machine. We have a shower and not a bath. It doesn't serve a great deal of water.

I agree with you fully. You have highlighted some of the measures to save water and where most of the water is wasted in the household. Water is indeed a scarce commodity and efforts should be made to save it.

Wow! That's a big jump in water price. We have a well, so water is something we don't have to worry about. However, I still try to conserve it by not letting it run when brushing my teeth, filling a salad spinner when washing greens, and using an eco friendly washing machine.

It's possible to save water by not washing car with a pipe and use water in the bucket and cloth. Don't let the tap run while we are brushing teeth
