What is going on?

My sister called me the other day, and she was telling me about two of her friends going to get a COVID test. It was incredibly busy, so after two hours of waiting, and having somewhere else to be, they told the front desk they were leaving (they did NOT have symptoms, they, like a lot of people, just wanted to be tested). So they left, and didn't think much of it until a week later when they both got a letter in the mail telling them they both had COVID 19, that they had tested positive.
But, they were NEVER tested! What in the world?!

I heard a similar story from a friend . . . their friend literally had the same thing happen, except it was via text. There are some strange things going on. I do think testing is necessary, but I don't know that we can trust the way the testing is being done.

I don't know where they were waiting to get tested but I would report them to the state because I assume they sent the charge for the test they didn't do to the state or federal government.

That is scary. It makes me wonder if this is the reason the numbers are so high?

Oh no...now that is scary. Also, people who do not have symptoms should not be wasting tests. Save them for the people who need them!!

As long as there are plenty of tests, I don't think it is a big deal. A person can have no symptoms, but still have it. When this first started it was so hard to get a test, but now, at least here, they are readily available. Otherwise, I would totally agree.

@AmbiePam Wellnyou raise a good point but the testing system is still overburdened and it takes some people weeks to get theirs. In general, they have always recommended if you have no symptoms and think you haven?'t been exposed you shouldn't be getting the test.

Maybe they are sending that to anyone who went there. It's best to have a test since some people don't show any symptoms even though they are already infected.

That's ridiculous. What a flawed system! No wonder the numbers of cases is questioned. Have a great week!
