Three prisoners save the life of a deputy who fell ill on the job

I have to admire the work of three prisoners who put aside their differences with a deputy who was on duty at the Gwinnet County Correctional Center when the deputy passed out from what appeared to be a heart related illness.
The three prisoners took action by banging on their cells when they saw the deputy pass out behind his desk.
The deputy was able to press a button on his desk to open up their cells. The three prisoners then ran from their cells to use the phone and radio to get the deputy who needed some help from the medics to assist them after he suffered a head injury when he hit his head on the desk and passed out a second time.
The prisoners admitted that they realize that the deputy is a human being that needed help despite their differences in life.
The deputy who fell ill on the job which may have been a heart attack is home recovering from his health scare
I am sure that the deputy is thankful that the prisoners showed compassion for him during his time of need.
Real life in a prison setting is a lot different than what the entertainment shows on television and movies show where the likely scenario would have been that the prisoners would not assist a deputy who fell ill on the job.

@Deepizzaguy Movies are usually in black and white. Real people are more complex.

I agree with you since in the movies, prisoners are not allowed to assist a deputy since it is assisting their enemy.

I agree with you since not all prisoners are monsters who despise police officers.

These people dont deserve to be in prison anymore. They seem to have a change of heart.

I am sure that the department of corrections in Georgia will release them on good behavior since they admitted that they wanted to see the deputy since he is human like they are.

It s kind of odd since in the movies the deputies are seen as the enemy.

That's quite commendable of the prisoners. I toured the former state pen at Brushy Mountain, Tennessee earlier this month, and the stories about the animosity between guards and prisoners was reiterated in the film that interviewed former guards.
"He's a human being." What a wonderful thing for people to remember!!!

What I have seen in the movies is that when a deputy gets hurt, the prisoner usually runs away and does not assist the deputy since they see them as their enemy.

The deputy was lucky that he was able to free the prisoners and that they helped him rather than harmed him. Good post.

The sentences will likely be reduced for saving the life of the deputy.

sometimes the redemption of a person comes from being in prison. It was once the goal of imprisoning people.

The prisoners punishment need to be reduced or pardoned for saving the life of a Prison Deputy on duty. They deserve freedom for their kindness.
