Low self esteem is a problem to most young people. Sometimes they feel they aint good enough or perfect like their peers and this greatly affects their social life. Have you ever helped someone to overcome low self esteem? Do you know someone struggling with low self esteem?? Are you struggling with low self esteem?? Come on lets talk!! I guess parents have to do something when it comes to a child's self esteem. When they are encouraged and praised for what they have done when they were still young, the way they feel will linger until adult life. Parents should also tell the child that it's not good to compare oneself to others because everybody is different, even twins are different, even though they may look alike but they have their skills, talents, strengths and weaknesses. I use to have low self esteem when I was growing up not because my parents didn't praise me nor encouraged me, it so happen that I had the tendency to compare myself to other girls and when I was growing up I told myself, that's not right, that's not fair. I have skills they don't have and they have skills that I don't have. So from that time on, I have learned to accept differences of people and how it should complement each other's lack.

It's possible that you know many young people with low self esteem and because of this conclude that they're the norm. I was a teacher for 40 years and can tell you that there are also young people with too much self esteem! They have no experience of anything but know everything about life (or so they think).
