Power windows of our car

The driver's window of our car wouldn't shut but it would open. I inquired from the dealer on the cost of the new power controller for the window. The quotation was 30,000 pesos or around $600. What??
I went to the nearby mechanic and had it fixed for 2,000 pesos. Now our car's window is okay.

The mechanic said that if it doesn't work anymore he will change the controller but with a cheaper one.

You are right, it is always expensive. Even with the AC the quoted price of the dealer was 5 times the actual cost that a repair shop charged me.

The dealer is almost always higher. So if out of warranty its better to go somewhere else.

We fixed our own window once but it was quite a task. We had to take the airbag mechanism out and were scared it would go off. lol

Once my power windows stopped working. I YouTubed it and fixed it myself! Mechanics are usually a ripoff! Good thing you fixed it at a good price.
