Tomorrow would've been my grandmother's birthday

Tomorrow will be August 1st. It would have been my paternal grandmother's birthday tomorrow. She passed away in her sleep years ago, in her own bed, next to my grandfather. Would be great if all of us left the world this way.
Surprisingly, she left us on August 24th, twenty-four days after celebrating her birthday. Missing her now but glad she is not around during this pandemic. With so many people having passed away, it would have been even more heartbreaking if she were still alive and left us due to covid.
Actually, all my grandparents are gone.
No one got to see me get married back in 2016.
How I wish this wasn't the case... When my brother got married many years ago three of our grandparents were still alive...
On a happier note, I finally reached $5 in one month.
I've only been able to do it two other times since joining five years ago. I guess three's a charm.

@lovebuglena this virus make those hard moments even more sad and difficult.

@nela13 Yes. And when I found out he had passed away I could not believe it. But to live to 96 years of age is impressive. Many don't even make it that far.

Three of them are buried in a cemetery by my house. I can see the cemetery from the hill where my house is. It actually borders our community. But to get inside you have to go all the way to the other side. No entrance on our end.
I have not visited their graves in a long time.

Mine are gone too, the way I see people suffer from the virus is heartbreaking never thought I'd live long enough to see anything like this. Today, I passed by a school and teachers are getting ready. I pray.

@lovebuglena I am so afraid for the kids, actually for everyone. I only go out if I have to.

Some were totally healthy and then caught covid and they are now gone.
No one is safe. If they open up schools in the fall it will not end well I feel.

@lovebuglena It is sad when you get older and all the older people in your family have passed on.

Yes, it's good she didn't live to see this pandemic. Many older people have passed from it.
That's wonderful you reached the minimum.

Hopefully, I will get it this month as well.
I would not want her or my other grandparents to suffer through this pandemic... But they lived through a lot in their lifetime and would probably live through that. But you never know.

Happy Birthday to your grandmother in heaven!
Only one of my grandparents (my paternal grandmother) lived long enough to see me get married. She was also still alive when both of my children were born as well.

Thank you! It's awesome that your grandma got to see her great grandkids. My paternal grandpa got to see his two great grandsons—my brother's two sons. My paternal grandma might have been alive to see both of them as well but don't remember.

Happy Birthday to your Grandmother. None of my grandparents were at my wedding. Some were deceased...others chose not to come. Congrats on reaching payout! Have a great weekend.

I am trying to remember if my paternal grandpa was still alive when I had my wedding or not... Feels like he was already gone.
