Feeling a bit shopaholicy

Happy Saturday! It’s my Monday. I am just on the treadmill for a few minutes before going to get ready for my “short” week of no overtime, just 4 days, 40 straight hours. I enjoy the overtime money but the overtime itself can be pretty draining. Coming to the realization that I am more of a fan of SHOPPING than I used to be, specifically online shopping. Normally I didn’t do much of it at all prior to COVID, I saved my money for trips I went on every couple months, and also I really enjoyed going out at night- bars, gambling at the casino. Even going out to restaurants. Not doing any of these things makes me a bit more bored, but also I have a lot more money to spend on fun things with! Now when I check the mail, and I have a package delivered, I think: sweet! It’s probably the most exciting part of my life right now. (Sad, or what?). At least I am trying to buy fun things to USE, not things I will hoard and keep a bunch of. My latest obsession has been bath/body products, and health related products (this months focus: has been “supergreens”. More on that later) This lovey box came in the mail earlier this week-a BUNCH of products from a brand called Desert Essence. Their products are cruelty-free, “sustainably sourced” from the desert (whatever that means). They are a little bit more expensive than other brands but their website seems to usually have frequent promo code coupons. In this package I got some bar soap (including an exfoliating one), jojoba oil, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, face moisturizer, and some lotion. I am excited to try these out, and it will likely take me forever to use them. What has been your fun purchase lately? Everyone stay safe and healthy please!

Me too and I need to stop. Sometimes it's just little things...or clothes. I guess it sort of evens out because I am not out dong shopping "in real life"

Nah, I guess buying that once a while is okay.

I think so too, but I need to cool it. For whatever reason, the feeling of searching for something online and buying it...is the source of my new happiness. And it needs to stop or at least slow down.

@maezee you have similar sense like one of my friends. She likes to buy even though she doesn't need it. But once she realized she's wasting money, she stop buying and only window shopping. It's tiring window shopping with her, but at least she don't waste too much money anymore.

I think so. And it's nice to have something tangible for my money. Since I can't get out and DO stuff/experience stuff - it seems like buying stuff is the next form of entertainment.
