50-Year-Old Songs: All Right Now

Since I’m doing the first part of these countdowns alphabetically it’s not surprising that both the 40-year-old song list and the 50-year-old song list would have a title starting with the same word. Lucky coincidence. All right, here’s today’s song that you probably sing along with, oblivious to the age of it.
All Right Now - Free
Before Bad Company (who had a song called “Bad Company,” so I guess that’s where they got their name from 
), lead singer Paul Rodgers was honing his chops in a band called Free. (If you think Barenaked Ladies listed on the marquee had people beating the club doors down, how about putting “FREE TONIGHT!” on the sign! 
)
After Free broke up, Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke formed Bad Company. Despite having six albums to their credit, this 1970 hit is all that’s left to remind us of Free.
That was half a century ago. And we’re still singing along.
(PS: ever noticed how the opening of Steve Miller’s “Rock’n Me” sounds a lot like this song?)

My brother loved the classic and hard rock music. That means so did I. Being like his shadow most of time, I heard all of the classics and legends way after the songs were popular by others. I love Bad Company and most of their songs.
