A different Sunday by the river

I live near a river, I grow up in this place and I don't like the river that much, I lost some friends there.
This Sunday we spent all afternoon at the river with some cousins and friends, we made a picnic, swim and it ended up to be a very well spent time.
My cousin has a house right next to the river and he knows that place very well, for the first time I let my children swim there.
I think I need to sleep now as I am feeling quite tired.

How I wish I live near the river. My husband grew up living near the river but they were never allowed to swim in there by their father. Rivers can be unpredictable and their dad was scared they might drown.

@nela13 We think the same way here. A lot of children have drowned in the river so it's a no no. My son has never swam in the river. He's a good swimmer but he's not allowed in the river. Pools and beaches, waterfalls, yes. And we always keep an eye on him anyway.

It will be great fun if all together and only we are at that place. Its sad thing that you lost some friends, are that river deep much?

@nela13 Oh if its deep then its quite dangerous as if we don't know swim then we need to not go far.

i really wish i could swim and play in the cold river,but in my village,there's just the streamlet and pond.Both of them are very dirty and unhealthy,i don't dare to swim at there.I fear that i will get infected by unknown bacteria.But if i had a chance to swim in a clear river,i will jumped into like a dolphin without doubt

This river is clean, my problem with the river is that it is unpredictable sometimes.

As long as the river doesn't have undertow then it is safe but here The Connecticut River is dangerous. Have a good night's sleep.

We have two rivers nearby that I love to go to for swimming and fun. The rivers are fed by underground springs, and the water is crystal clear and freezing cold, which feels really good on a hot summer day.
I'm glad you got to enjoy some time at the river, and that everyone had a good time.
