I discovered that my friend mylotter (@jvicentevalera) is in Chile. I thought he was in Caracas (Venezuela).
And about an hour later, when I was checking on my pantry to see what would I buy, I found some black beans.
So I put some beans to soak and I will cook "pabellón criollo" in his honor. I don´t know if I´ll be able to get the bananas to make patacones. Pabellón criollo is one of Venezuela´s national dishes.
Have you ever had it? It is delicious.

@marguicha what an honor to mentioned in a post that's related to one of my country's traditional dishes and one of the delicious ones! I would like to know if you could make it? It is curious because Chilean eat bananas the fruit that is traditional here and even in my country but when it comes to making Pabellón Criollo whe use the banana that's bigger have you seen it? I asked a Chilean and he told me that you guys dont consume that one very often! Anyway massive thanks for at least mentioning me in your post!

The other bananas can be bought at the Jumbo. I´ll make this Pabellón with the normal bananas because I´m now buying my groceries online.

@jvicentevalera Jumbo is the biggest supermarket. But now I don´t know if they have it. They are imported, you know.

@marguicha I got you! You know? Once I went to the open market and got them. As the way I see it it's the only place where to find them. I have been to Lider, Unimarc, among others but I didn't see them there!

@marguicha I think I have eaten them when I lived in Panama when my relatives went to visit my late grandmother in the interior.

First of all thank you very much for honoring
Venezuelans with our "Creole pavilion" or "Pabellón Criollo" in Spanish.
This is our typical national dish, I hope you
enjoy it very much. Accompany it with a very
cold Coke. Regards.

The dish is not so difficult to make. But I prefer to do part of it one dy and the rest the other.
