I'm starting to get aggravated

First, let me start this off with a disclaimer. I'm aware that I shouldn't consider this a big deal, but I am, alright? You don't have to agree with me. Heck, you don't even have to read this? This is going to be kind of a rant.
It's 4 PM. My yarn package from Fed Ex is supposed to be here today. The latest they've ever come is around 2 pm. A Fed Ex truck came to my street earlier today and dropped off a package for a neighbor.
My package (yarn) still says (yarn) that it's at the fed ex hub (yarn). I asked for text updates to see if it would say anything different and (yarn) all it said "In transit, estimated deliver to (insert my city name here) not available".
Did I mention this is a yarn delivery? I have considered calling, but well it doesn't say it's been delivered & I should at least give it another day. I'm super frustrated because if Fed Ex could make a delivery to my street today, why could they not have brought mine too? It's at the hub center, and it's not like it's the first time that a package arrived at the hub and was put on a truck for delivery on the same day.
Ugh! No, I don't think that the package was mis-delivered (for anyone who might be thinking that), but I am starting to get Really Frustrated
Ok rant over.
Like I said, maybe you guys won't feel the same way.. but Did I mention I'm waiting on yarn?

I want to call them & say "don't you know that yarn is important?" But of course, I know it's only important to me. I'm mostly aggravated because there's been no update on it. I'd been upset, but understand if the tracking said "delivery tomorrrow" but it doesn't even say that.
As an aside, Have you bought from Hobbii.com or Hobium.com? (I may have the spelling off on those) What about Ice Yarns?

I sent a package to my son for his Birthday in May. Chad still hasn't received it! I contacted the postal service and got a very nice e-mail back from the Greenville(where they live) post office manager stating, the issue that you reported has been resolved
Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you!
Chad still hasn't received the package I sent him

Oh yes, the USPS has definitely gotten worse. I tried to call & complain and could not even do that. You call and they direct you to fill out a form online. I got an email saying the same as yours, that the issue has been resolved and could I please fill a survey out about my experience?

I think much of the routing of packages makes no sense and could be frustrating. I have not been in your position. My last package that was for me, though, came early. I am used to UPS coming after 2:00 p.m. I happened to be going out the front door about 11 a.m. and the UPS truck went past, then stopped and backed up. He had a package (henna and something else) and delivered it. I said something about him being early and he responded that he had a delivery up the street, but the way they usually route him, he would go past my house, go do other deliveries in town, then double back and deliver at my address last!? He said it made no sense to him, since he drove directly past, so he delivered mine first. Our next delivery, last week, came in the morning. I think it was the same guy. He said that the delivery routing makes no sense at all. Sounds like the same people are doing the routing for your (yarn). Pure silliness.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I heartily agree. They probably all use the same software, or gps.

@GardenGerty We all know how GPS isn't that reliable either. Atleast the Fed Ex guy knows where my house is, a couple of years ago that wasn't the case.

Different company, but I don't doubt that they are using the same routing system. I just think of all the fuel & time that is wasted by their backwards routing system.

It's annoying..but maybe one of those things not worth getting aggravated about.

Right. I mean, I'm displeased but it's also at the back of my mind if that makes sense. The thing with Fed Ex in my area is that they've mis-delivered before. Of course, those times it said "your package has been delivered" and I had to call to find out that the driver delivered it to the neighborhood above ours.
It's not the end of their delivery schedule for the day so there's still time yet.

I know to expect USPS to be slow (I have a few things coming / will be coming that way) but this is Fed Ex. As an aside, USPS needs to overhaul their tracking service because it's garbage.
I hope you receive that package soon. Sounds like your brother needs to be doing some hunting & hounding them.

Part of me wants to call & ask if they can even tell me anything. It might still be sitting at the delivery hub - but it says it's supposed to be delivered today so I don't know.

That was me two weeks go when I was waiting on my sheets. My mother and I saw a Fed ex truck turn in close to where I live. I told her that they are probably going to my house and when I got home it was on my porch.

Glad they arrived. I had to wait an extra day & when I called the 1800 number the automated voice told me it was sent to the postal service, but that wasn't true.

@nela13 Thank You. I am eager because one of the yarns will go towards a wall hanging that I want to make.

I know what it's like to really want to receive something and it takes forever. Deliveries since the virus are taking forever! I have an Amazon order that won't be arriving until SEPTEMBER!

I've not had much problem with Hobby Lobby the last two months. I ended up calling the 1800 number for Fed Ex last night and the automated message said the package was being sent to the postal service. Then I wake up this morning to check the tracking, and fed ex is supposed to deliver it today. I don't really understand why they couldn't have yesterday.
The postal service is only getting worse, but you would think Amazon, with their own courier service, would be more expedient.

@LindaOHio Oh yes, those packages from China do take forever. The light bulb I ordered yesterday is coming from California, but I know that it is a drop shipped item. That is, that a seller in China sent it to a facility in the US & that the facility in the US is responsible for shipping it out.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I think some items are being shipped direct from 3rd parties. I had one Amazon package that came direct from China and took FOREVER!

I hate when this happens. It appears the courier companies are not taking their work seriously these days

Here it's even worse. The Trump administration put a new post master guy in & now that man is slowing down the mail. This package, however, is being delivered by a different courier / parcel service.

@amitkokiladitya He is the head of the postal service here. Post Master General is his title, and he's the boss of the entire postal service.

I called the 800 number last night and the automated voice told me it would be delivered by the postal service. I checked tracking today and it says it will be delivered by FedEX (the original parcel service) and so I think they need to update their tracking systems.

It's just really, really frustrating not knowing whether it will actually be here today or whether they've lost it.

@CarolDM It definitely is. I know that I'll feel ten times better when it arrives, or even when I can find out why it ISN'T arriving when I expect it to.. but until then. (I wish we had a shrug emoji)

We can't really do that here. We'd have to go to through the business we ordered from, and it's out of their hands after they've given it to the courier.
