Part-timers not called!

I understand that the part-timers of the college of nursing where I was employed at, are not informed of any developments for the coming school semester. Maybe it is because it is not advisable to handle students in the hospital and community settings.
I was able to talk to our beadle, Mr. Sam, that there are just a handful of instructors who go to school to prepare modules for the online education. Sir Sam said they should be in school for 15 days, and the other 15 days is their off day.
They are also receiving PhP5k only; that is why many deans and instructors resigned.
I have no communication with my colleagues except some messages of hope through the FB messenger chat. Our GC is not so active now.
For you who are employed outside of your homes, do you have doubts if one day you will receive the word that ''your services are no longer needed''?

That is what I am anticipating for now. I know my company can only endure this much financially and this pandemic have hurt a lot of many businesses to close shop. The only consolation for this is I am eligible to early retirement and might get the separation from the job a little bit easier to accept than those that are younger than me and separation might be a difficult thing to do.

@ridingbet You have reached the retirement age already and seems like you don’t worry that much anymore. I on the other hand is a decade more to reach that age so l might be retiring earlier l still have a son that will go to college. l just hope that the retirement can suffice paying for him through college or someone might get interested in hiring me at my age.

that is true. my son was even requested to attend a meeting with the other admin staff of the school; he had to say NO and ignored the request because he already submitted his resignation several months ago.

That's very sad but it's the reality of being an employee. It's best to work for yourself so you cant fire you.

the reason for this is due to the virus; maybe if there are no problems, others may not want to receive that notification of resignation from work.

@ridingbet The Swiss Government is supplying the laptops to the students who cannot afford to buy them, so that they can continue the classes from home, it is dangerous to reopen the schools.

it is really. some students do ask from other people about money so they can buy laptops or gadgets needed for their online classes.

@LadyDuck here, the students ask financial help from netizens, and most often than not, they are given or sent money by others through an online parment scheme.

That's so sad in a private institution. In the university where I'm teaching, no problem of retention except those who can't manipulate computer well, mostly oldies retirees, they voluntarily exit in an online teaching, but can come back as soon as we're virus free.

good for you because you are still active on online teaching, or is it a face to face encounter with your students?
