I like to clean up the kitchen before cooking. And after cooking, the kitchen is full of dirty pots again.
I had to take out the pressure cooker. It is always in a low part of the kitchen and it hurts my knees to bring it to the counters. Besides, it is very thick and heavy.
The black beans are cooked now but I have to prepare the thousand other ingredients that the caraotas negras have. They are hot and sweet and smoked and salty. The legend behind this awesome Venezuelan dish says that the slaves mixed whatever was left from the table of their masters hundreds of years ago. As I see it, they ate a lot better than them.
The internet has explained a lot of old customs behind old dishes. I don´t know if they are true, but I love them
Do you know any legend or story that belongs to one of your traditional dishes?

No, I don't have any background stories for any of the dishes we cook. I cook many of the dishes (or at least I used to cook when I was able) that my mother-in-law cooked for my husband.

Yes in Ireland and in my household since my heritage is just that on one side, we make and bake the bread and cut a cross into it with a knife. For blessings in the house.

@amitkokiladitya I will. And if by Tuesday I´m not out of pain, I´ll tell my daughter to bring the food and will freeze the cooked beans.

It is a pity. Homemade foods are much better.
