Plants to avoid inside house

India
August 18, 2020 2:15am CST
As per Vastu ( Indian system of architecture ) it is believed that thorny plants such as cactus, bonsai except roses need to be avoided planting inside house. They are believed to give out negative energy causing family issues and misfortune. I don't believe in Vastu but it is followed by many Indians while constructing their house. Have you heard about Vastu ?

This reminds me of the cactus inside the home of my aunt when I was a boy of 5 or 6. I got pricked by the thorn, wahuhuhu.

@jayanth_77 waheehee, it would be fun if the other kids are pricked. But that is not our cactus. Since then I have been careful with cactus.

@Alexandoy yes it's good to be careful. Moreover the thorns of the cactus once pricked are difficult to remove. They are very small and need skilled hands to remove them.

It's OK even if you don't know vastu or don't follow it. For safety reasons also it is good to plant thorny plants in the garden outside the house.

Cactus are popular indoor plants around here. So it's good that I had them outside the house instead.

It's just a belief about negative energy. So you need not worry about it if you have planted cactus plant inside your house.

Yes. That's what many say. I have one flowering cactus and one bonsai lemon tree. They are in my garden. Though not an ardent follower of vaastu, I listen to such suggestions.

Thorny plants are better kept outside. We have bougainvillea bush beside our main door. We got it uprooted today. The flowers are beautiful but it's thorns are sharp.

May be the pricky nature of the cactus and other thorny plants may have lead to the belief of negative energy.
