If you are picking the leaves to eat then the tuber will be small and sometimes cannot be eaten.

@nawala123 what we do is to plant 2 in different location. One for the leaves and the other for the tuber. I used to plant yam in a sack with about 1 foot of soil. When the yam grows it is easy to harvest for I do not need to dig. Your pot is also good for the sweet potato tuber.
