I saw this guy swoop in front of my car as I was driving down by the river. As he landed n front of me on this dead tree, I reached for my camera. I took these photos and as I zoomed in i realized I wasn't exactly sure what kind of hawk this was. So i tried to get some close ups to help me in identifying it. After some research (thank you Google) I discovered.. It's a baby! This is a Juvenile Coopers Hawk... the adult is more a Solid dark Gray and does not have this big white spots on its back and it also usually has eyes that have darkened to almost red. I believe I have a discussion(and photo) about one I caught with a chipmunk quit a few years ago. So here's another new discovery for me. I love learning more about the wildlife around me. how about you?

That's a great photo. It can be quite a task sometimes to work out exactly what bird you're looking at.
