My brother will be over soon to do some work (poor guy, he's got his house and mine to keep up
), so I'll give you a 50-year-old song that may not seem that old. Let's hop in the time machine and go back to a song that you probably still know!
Snowbird - Anne Murray
This is one of those songs that was "late to bloom." The album it came from was released in 1969, but this wasn't a single until 1970. Once it was, though....it flew to the top of the charts!!
This is one of those rarities in the world of crossovers. It did better on the POP chart (#8) than on the COUNTRY chart (#10). It was also #1 in Canada (go figure), on the easy listening charts, and a big hit worldwide.
This is the song that basically established Anne Murray as a star. That luster hasn't dimmed any in the past 50 years.

I like her, but I've always considered her far more "easy listening" (adult contemporary, middle of the road, whatever) than "country."
